Overview

We helped Avison Young transform bold ideas into a globally recognized podcast that elevated their brand and sparked meaningful industry conversations.

Business Objective

Avison Young partnered with JAR Audio to launch Changing Places, a podcast that explores the evolving relationship between people, cities, and the built environment. At a time when the future of work, urban design, and commercial real estate was being redefined, Avison Young saw an opportunity to lead the conversation—not just follow it. Through rich storytelling, expert voices, and a journalistic tone, the show dove into timely, complex topics that mattered to both industry insiders and a broader, globally curious audience.

The business goal wasn’t just to create content—it was to create impact. Avison Young wanted to carve out a distinctive voice in a crowded market, one that reflected the firm’s values of intelligence, empathy, and forward-thinking leadership. Changing Places became more than a podcast; it became a strategic platform for thought leadership, brand differentiation, and meaningful engagement. The result? A globally recognized show that reinforced the brand’s credibility, sparked industry dialogue, and turned listenership into lasting brand affinity.

The Solution

Avison Young’s goal was to reach a niche audience of real estate agents and investors. Our solution was create a podcast that challenged their current thinking by having a conversation with them about “how our built environment is evolving”. We worked with the Avison Young team to develop and produce a podcast that captured the attention of this audience by telling the story of how new needs, policies, and the new use of space are changing the face of real estate. Changing Places is a podcast about the way our relationship with the built environment is evolving. It’s about what lies at the intersection of people meets place, today and into the near future.

JAR Audio then created a podcast marketing plan that targeted niche podcasts for cross-promotion opportunities, and executed on a paid media buy that targeted this unique audience. Avison Young was incredibly happy with the results, and has already completed two full seasons. Avison Young has also reported that they are now using the podcast as onboarding material for each new company hire, globally.

The Impact

AR Audio helped Avison Young turn their bold vision into a powerful branded podcast that positioned the company at the forefront of real estate thought leadership. With Changing Places, we delivered a globally recognized show that explored the intersection of people, cities, and the built environment, amplifying the brand’s voice during a pivotal time of change.

By combining high production value with compelling storytelling and expert guests, the podcast became a strategic platform for differentiation, engagement, and influence. It not only strengthened Avison Young’s credibility in the market but also built lasting connections with a global audience hungry for insight.
