New Project – Look Again

JAR Audio is proud to introduce Look Again: Mental Illness Re-Examined, presented by the BC Schizophrenia Society.

1 in 5 people in Canada experience mental illness. And 1 in 100 Canadians lives with schizophrenia. Mental illness is all around us and how we deal with it impacts everything, from our family life, the cost on our medical system, substance use, employment, the demand for housing… the list goes on and on.

This is why when the phone rang we absolutely had to work with the BC Schizophrenia Society. This podcast, with support from the BC Partners in Mental Health and Substance Use Information, shines a light on the voices in the mental illness community through sharing the story of this podcast.

In a time where people are isolated from family, friends, and resources; more and more people are talking about mental health. But who’s talking about mental illness? This podcast comes when it is most needed, to help re-insert mental illness into the conversation. As a resource for community learning, a tool for awareness, and as a message of hope and guidance, “Look Again: Mental Illness Re-examined” has the opportunity to create a space for understanding and education and help bring light to the issues affecting people who are often marginalized and overlooked by society completely.

The goal of the podcast is to dispel the myths around mental illness and bring light to how mental illness affects all Canadians.

Our host Faydra Aldridge, CEO of BCSS, speaks with medical experts, families, and people with lived experience of mental illness to dispel myths and get to the truth. Be prepared for frank conversations, up-to-date medical information, and stories of hope and resilience.

This podcast is for anyone whose life has been touched by mental illness. In other words, it’s for everyone.

Subscribe/Follow, listen, and enjoy Look Again for free, wherever you get your podcasts. And please share with your community.
